Candle Care Guide
Thank you for choosing our natural soy wax candles.
To ensure you get the most out of your little moment and enjoy a safe, long-lasting candle burn, please follow these simple care instructions:
Safety first Never leave a burning candle unattended and keep away from drafts, flammable materials, pets, and children.
Trim the wick before each burn to 1/4 inch (5mm). This promotes an even burn. It is best to use a pair of wick trimmers to do this, if you don’t have those any pair of scissors. Wick trimmers are available in our Candle Accessories shop.
On the first burn, let the candle burn long enough for the wax to melt evenly across the entire surface for about 2 hours, but no more than 4 hours. This prevents "tunnelling" in the wax and maximises the candle’s lifespan.
After the first burn to ensure a longer candle life, burn your candle for at least 1 hour, but no more than 4 hours at a time. Allow the candle to cool and solidify before relighting.
Extinguish the candle safely, please use a candle snuffer or gently blow it out. Do not touch or move the candle until the wax has solidified.
Soy wax post-burn can look mottled and uneven, this is normal and part of the charm of using a natural material versus synthetic petroleum-based waxes. But don’t worry there is no compromise to the candle performance.
Please reuse or recycle the container by removing the leftover wax with warm water and soap. All containers are glass and can be recycled in most home collection recycling schemes or local recycling centres. They also make great pen pots or seedling planters. We are working on creating candle refills for you so watch this space.
